When I was a little annoying pest roaming around the Fontainbleau tower that my father engineered - around 1960 - Rich told me that he was the Pool Boy at the (now-shady) Eden Roc next door. I would have been 10, so my best guess is that Rich would have been about 14? How young were Pool Boys when they were given jobs? Too bad Rich and I never met up then - I could have asked for a clean towel! - another of life's strange coincidences. We did get to chat, a couple of years past, about our shared Miami experiences - horse tracks, best spots to eat, the Boom Boom Room in the Fontainebleau that my father installed air conditioning in, that sort of thing.
As I am 73 1/2, I would have guessed Rich was maybe 78?
