Around 1995 a couple of years after I joined the CCA I was in Louisville and Doc invited me to his home for dinner. He grilled up some nice steaks on the outdoor grill and to finish off dinner we had the famous "Derby" pie for desert. After dinner Doc showed me his collections of Nevada, Illegal and Ivory chips. What a great collection he had !! He gave me a few chips for my collection and I still have them including a non-denominated chip from Pop's Oasis in Jean, Nevada. I saw him several other times in Louisville over the years and every year at the Convention. It was always a pleasure to spend some time with him. He was a true Pioneer in the Chip Collecting Hobby and I will never forget him and the good times we shared.
Rest in Peace my old friend. Condolences to his family.
