I'm sending Dale the original photocopy and he can decide if they're original of fakes.

Though you can't see the vertical lines outside of the diagonal pattern within the letters (which is common on European and British pieces; pearls, too) in the scan, it's very close to the right side of the V's scrimshaw in IM-JN (page 154), which is not seen on IM-JW and IM-AL, but is seen on the "C" in IM-CJ.... which are probably from similar sets... or, they, too are fakes.

I'll probably buy the lot, as I'd hate to pass them up to learn later on down the road that they're part of an original set owned by King Gustoffinbergerholtzmieryskioff IV.
