IN reading a thread farther down I started wondering what determines the production numbers of LE chips. The casino does not charge over face value or impose a premium for them. Right? So the casino makes the same as someone buying regular house chips right? It is my understanding that they are, more or less, ‘bait’ that collectors or anyone else will take as a souvenir and the casino will never have to cash back in. An easy profit for the casino, except when you look at the low production numbers times the denomination it seems like it is hardly worth the casino’s time and effort. A few thousand dollars worth of LE’s to me seem to be a trivial amount for a huge casino. Obviously not because of all the LE’s they continue to pump out. I would think they make much, much more in normal operations than they do in a single LE issue. I can see the advertising value in producing them, but many are not advertising anything so, I don’t really understand Limited Edition chips or the methods used to come up with production numbers. Anyone?? Thx
