chips.
Earlier today I sold a barrel of Binion's Horseshoe N4393 $25 chips. In preparing them for shipment, I noticed something rather interesting about each and every one of them. All 20 were identical in how the inserts and inlays were aligned to each other.
Now, I suspect that others may have noticed this in the past, and I have seen it on few other chips, but in looking further on ChipGuide, there are quite a few Horseshoe chips that have this same alignment, for the chips shown and I now suspect that the other chips from each rack are the same.
The above images are of the same chip, showing both sides. Note that the placements of the inlays, in relationship to the inserts, are symmetrical, with the inserts being shifted (rotated) 60° between each side. Inlays appear at 12, 4 and 8 on the left image and 2, 6 and 10 on the right image. This was not a random thing. Doing this is a purposeful action at the factory and requires more time and precision by the operators. It also probably resulted in an increased cost to the casino.
