When I was working soap operas years ago as a prop man, the stage mangers relied on the stagehands to help with gambling scenes. They would bring in whole casinos, tables and slots.
During one story arc I had to teach Horshack how to deal BJ. I would have to preset the cards to come out of the shoe in a certain order. The way they had the cards dealt had no basis in reality. the story & time where more important. Soaps unlike the movies time was important. We cranked out a show a day. Something was wrong if there was more than 3 takes.
