I like the father/son hypothesis , but the problem is that Milton B. Page was born in 1887. He would have been 55 in 1942. I imagine that his father had to be at least 20 when his son was born, which would make him at least 75 in 1942.

Also, I don't know of Farmer Page's father ever being involved in any of his son's many gambling operations. The chip order is too big (4000 chips) to be a fun birthday gift. M&M may represent Milton and the first name of another gambling operator. I'm looking into that possibility.
