Re: Whilst not as good as Meat Loaf………..

As he thought that 2 out of 3 weren’t bad……………At least you selectively answered some of the questions which is more than I expected.
I mentioned about the warp mainly because it was the first time I can recall (out of the many times it has been posted) that it wasn’t mentioned. Oh, and thanks Roy, yes on the plaque you did reduce the warpage but it seems that taking a photo straight on works around it.
I saw the post where you wondered about why the Playboy plaques were the only chips that have “THE” on but it was deleted so thought I’d just add it on here instead. Maybe it was because you neglected to say “photos courtesy of the guide” (although usually you just add it on the next post) but it’s more likely that you noticed the glaring error in your post by remembering that the metal tokens also say “THE” on them.
As to why the plaques say THE Playboy Club I would think that it “sits” (or looks) better than without “THE” but there are many other possible reasons too, I suppose. As I expect you must have realised after posting, the metal tokens also say “THE” on them (which was the mistake in your ponderings) and probably for the same reasons, better on the eyes and font size may have been a consideration too. It would probably have made the chips too cluttered or a smaller font size would have been needed which is why it wasn’t on those, possibly.
The training school gold coloured token stands out as odd since they are the only Training School ones that say London (and were still in use at the Vic training school well into the 2000s). The training school was moved to Stocks House in 1973 (I think) so maybe that’s why the others don’t say London or, again, because it makes them too “cluttered” and not look as “nice.”
It's funny that nearly all of the stuff says Club and not Casino though (except for the gaming session tickets).
Yes, it is obvious why the plaques don’t say London so I’ll leave it at that.
As to the Portsmouth jetons now having the size on, you’re welcome.

Nice £25 UK plaque from a not-so-nice joint
From its earlier days way back

I reduced your warpage a bit
You posted this one in The Guide
Yep... and, I watched it warp year after year
Now I remember that. Thanks, again.
