I remember coming across the Stateline Saloon on a trip to
Ash Meadows in the 70s. I met Doris Jackson, “the first woman
in gaming” (I can think of three or four others) who let me buy
whatever chips I wanted. There was a poker and 21 game but I
never saw them open. I remember the place being very dusty
and a large hat collection on the wall. There was a bar called the
Mecca a few miles away.
