Started out in downtown Porterville, presumably where the Cellar Steakhouse is now located. Then moved to the owner's house! (No gambling there, just a device to hold onto the license.) Then, to the West Morton Street address which was in a small strip-mall. That's where I finally caught up wtih the casino and was able to buy a few chips from the owner. My understanding is that The Mint closed, for good, soon after that.
There was a proposal by the Tule River Indian Tribe to buy The Mint while it was still in Porterville. It would have become an additional tribal poker room or something. The State took a dim view of Indian gaming leaving the Reservations and said no to that idea.
