Drove Route 66/I-40 back in 1973 on my way to Albuquerque where I lived for a few months. Wasn't in to casino chips back then so I paid no attention to the casinos (if there were any). I remember finding low-grade turquoise on the gravel alleyways of Albuquerque. Guess they got their rocks from mining tailings. Hard to find work in N. M., I was a floor waxer at the Air Force Secret Weapons Laboratory for a short while. Can't reveal what was in there but had to be careful not to trip over the bombs lying around!
Eventually I left for California where work was not so challenging.
