I'd be surprised if there were 3 French roulette tables in such a small club as for the floor space, cost/amount of extra staff and ratio of spins per hour an American Roulette table would have been a much more profitable proposition. I'm not sure if French roulette was on the way out by then or not (1973) but I'd assume that there would have been AR tables either way so maybe that was the 4th table. I did get some triclub roulette chips from an ex-Playboy staff member who started at Portsmouth although she was in hospitality, then came to London becoming a manager by the time I worked with her at the Victoria and Connoisseur. I never thought to ask which club they were from.
I would expect that the 10p and 20p chips were from the dice table only.
As to the 12 1/2p ones, many provincial clubs had 12 1/2p games on roulette in the afternoon at that time but maybe the Blackjack tables were 25p too?
The ex-VSC manager (and training officer at the Vic later) I know did tell me that jetons were also used on the BJ tables at the CHC in the 1960s so maybe it was a hangover from then? I don't know where the management/security were brought in from but many had their own foibles and ways of doing things so if they were "old school" I suppose it's possible.
I'd expect the rest of the chips to have been used in the AR floats and cash desk, obviously.
At Le Cercle, jetons were used on the Baccarat/chemin de fer tables (along with plaques) but it doesn't mention that game on the guide.
Until we can find somebody who worked there and remembers specific things we can only speculate really.
