Completely understood the point of my post.
I never meant that post to infer that anything you said was wrong as all points you have made are valid.
I also never said there was any singular group out to “destroy the club”.
What I said was the constant bickering on the chipboard is having a negative impact on the hobby and the club.
I apologize if you took my thoughts personally as I can assure you they were l not aimed at yours and many others who made suggestions in a civil manor.
Suggestions for improvement are a good thing.
Some of them I can completely support and others while I think are based on good intentions, I may not agree with.
As I have said several times already, unfortunately the negativity is coming from both sides of almost every issue and I believe can be worked out thru productive discussions between all sides.
My goal is not for not for everyone to share a group hug. It is to stop the negativity in the hobby and for us all to find ways to work together for the benefit of both the club AND the hobby.
I realize that there is a lot of work to be done in order to accomplish that but and it’s very possibly that my opinions are somewhat biased. Being a former board member I have actually seen things from multiple viewpoints.
No one can deny that some of the things that have been posted here over the past few weeks have been downright nasty and should have never been posted. Those are the comments I was referring to.
A lot of that seems to be based on personal issues with certain people and I will admit that even some of it was not completely undeserved.
But I keep coming back to my main point which is negativity is not good for anyone, especially for those trying to encourage new collectors into the hobby we all enjoy.
I sincerely hope this better explains the goal of my post.
On a personal level, I truly appreciate everything you have done for the hobby over the many years I have been collecting. One of the highlights of my convention during the years at the Trop was going to your hall of fame exhibit. I always enjoy seeing you at the convention and only wish you the best.
Thank you for what you do and have done.
