Obviously you've never tried to purchase a chip from Rockingham Park! I once drove there - while visiting a cousin in Massachusetts - and waited around for 4 hours until the casino opened. Limited hours, think the room opened around 4 PM. It was merely a "rec room" under the bleachers. Finally the cashier, who was a dead ringer for Miss Beazley (Archie Comics) opened her cubby-hole and I asked if I could buy a few chips. "NO!!!!" she screamed. "Buy from the tables!" There was no one at the tables and it seemed nobody would show up that day, so I left. I doubt very many people ever got away with even one Rockingham chip - perhaps a New Hampshire law states that no chips may leave casino premises.

In any event, when this particular hoard turned up - there was enough collector interest in the chips to make them of interest - at least for some initial sales. Now poker players all over can ask for Rockingham chips and be told: "NO!!!!"
