Hi all,
For the next week and a half I will be holed-up in Las Vegas! The company I work for shuts-down between Christmas and New Years and lumps our holiday days into that period thereby giving everyone a nice vacation.
I am spending the entire time Las Vegas and look to see and visit many chippers and chip venues! Our trip started in Laughlin, where I did not acquire too much, however, while visiting the Ramada Express I was told that they are in possession of a new, 6 chip set of military $5 LE's that the cage people do not know the release process. The 6 chips commemorate the following services....Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine (I may have spelled "Merchent" wrong). Anyway, the chips are in the cage and still sealed in the shipping racks. Ramada plans a New Year release, but those chips have not yet been delivered.
I managed to acquire another early version of the Colorado Belle's $5 house chip (TCR #V6575) although this one has some damage.
For those who were interested in the Edgewater NCV poker tournament chips, I talked with the holder and I am still working on a deal. I also talked with the cage manager at the Edgewater, regarding a past posting of Poker Tournament chips that Rich Averil has. Neither the cage, nor the former poker room manager are familiar with the chips. This does not say that they are not Edgewater chips, only that they are not familiar with them. I would therefore suggest that those chips are older than 10 years (the time that the cage manager has been there).
On a side note, the cage manager told me that she has written records (and photos) of the numbers of all chips order by the Edgewater. She will check those records for these "Poker Tournament" chips.
Anyway, all for now, however, Ross Poppel, the RR had not arrived before I left. Therefore, it will be held-up in the post office until I return January 2nd. Sorry.
If in Las Vegas give me a call at 520.316.8697. I will not have very good access to my email, so if it is important leave a message here!
Thanks, Happy Holidays, and keep posting the COTY/TOTY/SSOTY scans!
