If you read the original post, there is no indication of the nature of the transaction. This could be a trade, a purchase, a gift, an online auction, who knows? If it was a sale, then the seller should be responsible. But Bob you are correct, the sender should be responsible for the lost and it was the sender's option to insure or not.
