You don't have to force people to login to have them accept terms of usage.
You can just have a notice for someone to click, that puts a cookie on their computer that says, they have viewed and agreed. If they block cookies, well tough luck, they can click every time they come to the site?
Just like watermarks, which can be removed, it's more about the notice and protecting the assets, than locking them behind some kind of vault door. Chipguide is free and useful and that's the biggest asset and value. I some days look for things, just in case I need to be updated on what might be out there. I have used the guide to find and ID chips. I think it's wonderful.
My suggestions are not to criticize what's there, or any of the volunteers, but to suggest ways to make it even better.
No right click would defeat some of the functions, but a watermark would be free advertising.
And you asked about someone buying the site. There's some deep pocket thinking. I don't know if it could be sold either? But if someone did want to monetize the website, advertising views would be the way. How much traffic does it get daily? What kind of page rank does it have. How much would that translate to in paid advertising to related businesses?
Imagine that? A casino advertising they have new chips on the table, come play. LOL 😉 Or a silver strike machine? Or maybe just because they want to be seem ### times a day by people who frequent casinos?
