A few days ago John B. posted a picture of a new style GPS (Gas Pump Sticker) from Florida that he wondered if I had in my GPS Collection.
GPS are put on gas pumps to attest to the accuracy of the pump by a Weights and Measures employee in compliance with various laws.
Shown below are various GPS that I have "Harvested" from my many cross country trips to the Annual Chip Convention in Vegas.
I started collecting GPS just for fun and to give me something to do while I was filling the tank of my van as I traveled all over the USA. Also they are souvenirs of my many trips.
The first 5 scans of GPS are from a single trip I took in 2011 back and forth across the US from Delaware to California.
The remaining scans are GPS in alphabetical order comprising the rest of my collection.
Including dups I have around 200 GPS.
GPS collecting is not for everyone but it is a fun diversion for me. I have harvested most of the GPS but have had a few sent to me by fellow chip collectors who knew I collected GPS.
If anyone wants to harvest some GPS and send them to me I would appreciate the gesture.
My favorite GPS are the ones with the State Outlines on them and some of the more colorful GPS issued by counties.
Hardest to obtain were the New Jersey GPS as they pump the gas for you. You have to use all your expertise to get these stickers while someone else is pumping the gas for you !!
Most GPS are issued by States but they are also issued by various counties in some States.
I hope you enjoy seeing this unusual and totally bizarre collection that I have had fun putting together.
Take care,
"Mr. GPS"
