Maybe I should have read the whole thread, but I got up to Archie's reply and I thought that covered it. I think I get to verbose and the ideas get buried in the rambling.

Slot Token = played in a slot

Token = coin made for trade, cash, services.

Also tokens = political, advertising, good luck, souvenir, Etc.

Medals = issued to commemorate and event, issued as art, or (here comes more controversy) part of a topical series to be collected.

So from these standard definitions used in collecting tokens, a SPT is really a medal not a token. But who cares? We can have our own definitions.

Hope this clears up the token vs gaming token aka slot token? The ones you win from the machine are all tokens. Unless someone wants to start arguing for the purist version which would be they are all Medals? I like to call them all some form of tokens...
