LE chips may be "worthless" to many collectors but they expanded the universe of reasons to collect chips. Most chippers focus on one or more elements of the universe of chips: casino, location, mold, color, manufacturer, etc. The LE chips added many new elements to the universe of reasons to collect with the graphics on the chips, such as cars, airplanes, holidays, anniversaries, events, etc. Casino chips are not investments. They are collectables. They are only worth what a person is willing to pay for the enjoyment of owning any specific chip. I collected thousands of chips over the past 50 or so years. What I paid for those I bought from other collectors wasn't an investment but an expense of a hobby I enjoyed. I have recently decided to re-focus my collection universe to only LEs with a patriotic theme because, as a military veteran, I like seeing the American Flag, military equipment, presidents, the Liberty Bell, etc. on my wall. I'm not trying to bash anyone, just offering my 2 cents on LEs
