Just to clear up any misconceptions .... these pages are NOT intended to be contenders for COTY/TOTY/SSOTY, but merely a place to store images of chips and tokens and silver strikes that were issued during the calendar year 2001. Many Nevada collectors are not aware of A.C. designs and vice-versa. Indian reservation chippers may not be familiar with Riverboats. It was Jim Follis' and my thoughts simply to have a place to store ANY chip, token, silver strike image that was issued during 2001 so that those club members who had not seen a particularly outstanding design, might make up their minds after seeing those candidates that are eligible for nomination and pick the one(s) they like best when it comes time to send in the official nomination form. Neither Jim, nor I, can posssibly be familiar with every chip or token or silver strike that was issued during 2001. We are leaving it up to those individuals who are familiar with their particular area to post those items that were issued during the past year.

I can tell you from past contest experiences..., beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not all chippers like the same chip. A chip that "Harry" loves may be considered horrible by "Susie".

Also, some folks simply will not vote for ANY chip that was not issued in their geographical area.... in fact, there are some folks who actively campaign and solicit votes from other club members for their favorite choices.

Hopefully, through the intelligent use of these pages, most club members will be free-thinkers and make up their own independent minds without having been told by someone else which ones to vote for. Once again, the on-line club members enjoy an added benefit of having all these images available to them that non-on-liners do not have.
