Thanks for letting me know. The threading on here is really weird and antiquated in today's world. I saw where someone said they keep it like this as a tribute to the founder and b/c some people might not want or like change. In my opinion I think it is a disservice to a forum that could be so much more accessible, visited and user friendly. I cannot help but think that would have a beneficial increase in membership in the related organizations as well. Surely there are better ways to honor a founder than to prop up an out of date interface that is also apparently under constant attack by spam bots, many of which seem to get through on a fairly regular basis.
I'm pretty good with computers but it even took me 3-4 tries, plus direct communication with David S., to even create an account on here. I'm not saying this is the case, but it is almost like some may not want newer people joining the "club", engaging with other collectors and are satisfied with the status quo. What do I know, though...
My only thought is that if a club/hobby/site like this does not make itself easy for new people to join and access, it is going to slowly wither and die. I'm pretty tenacious but even I was frustrated and thinking about whether it was even worth wasting more time on.
You have a decent CDI sample set! Brent has a great one (see his pic in the thread above)...including actual movie props and error chips. Hoping I find a few shaped inlays this month!
