Looks like my post from last night got deleted with the spam. Anyhow, it was just a comment that looking for chips is one of the best parts of the hobby! Hoping to find some of these shaped inlay fantasy chips for my birth month. If you have any or any leads on them, send me an email. Thanks!
Just that the old, vintage, antiquated BBS doesn't do threading properly and as days pass, your original will drop down and down, and the replies will get separated from the original and show on the NEWEST posts.
Good news, you didn't get deleted, it's just the way the BB organizes.
Interesting chips by the way, I started to collect them, but then new and different and all kinds of test chips or who knows what, would be discovered. I do like the different shapes for the inlays.
Speaking of the debate that never ends. When I first started, I bought some of these at a coin show, and I didn't know they were not a real casino or a store chip / fantasy chip. As much as I hate the flippant answer "buyer beware" it's a fact of life in collecting anything. The individual needs to know their market and the items and if there are fakes and reproductions. TCG does a fine job of making the point that they are out there and many kinds.
After that, each one of us is responsible for our own decisions, and what we buy. So yeah, I paid $3 each for a bunch of Casino de Isthmus City - before I joined (discovered) CC>CC whoo Hoo, sure am happy to be a member for over 30 years. I wish there were more of us.
These are the only ones I have:
