I like the punch boards. I’ve read about those, but never saw one, even in my youth. I believe you paid the operator a quarter, and then you got a stick to push one of the unused holes which revealed a rolled up piece of paper that either said “$2 winner”, or “try again” or some such. Only the operator knew if the bigger prizes were claimed yet. Think they were technically illegal, but widely used in bars. Believe they were written about in ‘Scarne’s Complete Guide to Gambling’, published around 1960.
