Something that caught my eye yesterday/the day before was "On the other hand the traditional "singles" chip collecting community are collectors first and more interested in collecting individual pieces of gaming history for their collection to look at, not play poker with..." I don't know... it caught my eye and reminded me of so many threads that I've seen on this topic. There are tons of people across the world that collect singles either for a memory of a trip, the history of the casino or something similar. That's why I collect singles, but I also collect chips in quantity for the same reason. There are tons of chips that I'd like to see put together to have an authentic playable set that is filled with history. It reminds me of the Vegas World tournament chips that they used in the 1980s. Players like Stu Ungar, Johnny Chan, Bob Stupak and so many others got to touch those amazing chips and think about that history! Look at what those poker players did for the community at large and all the people that have been influenced or looked up to those players. I'm sure there are many people in the community that either have gotten to meet some of those players or if they are into poker looked up to them, have read a book or something similar by them.
