Submissions to ChipGuide are NOT restricted to just images. We welcome submissions that inform users of the history.
ChipGuide Admins are not necessarily historians. While some are, there is a tendency to simply transfer the contents of submissions into the casino location and then move on to the next submission. Speaking for myself and a few other Admins, when we have additional, specific and personal knowledge/awareness of additional information, there is an attempt to provide that information in ChipGuide.
Case in point, the Palms Casino of Las Vegas, has now had 3 ownerships. The first two ownerships (Maloof and Stations) are still combined as a single entity, but under Yaamava ownership (the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Highland, CA), there is a new casino listing for the "Palms".
I believe this same effort has been made for a few other, in more recent times, ownership changes. But this becomes very, very tricky and difficult to track. Some ownership changes, change nothing for the casino's collectibles, especially chips. But the Admins stand ready for 'submissions' that provide this type of information.
So I say.... Content, CONTENT, CONTENT! Please submit CONTENT to ChipGuide beyond the images.
Thank you.
