"More than 50 names and various logos underwent the scrutiny of focus groups, assembled by casino officials, in the last four months. The final choice seemed logical, according to Peter Simon of Nevada Landing Partnership, which with Hyatt Development Corp. is building the casino. "Victoria" refers to the Victorian-style design of the complex, including the boat, and to the architecture of many homes and structures in various Elgin neighborhoods."
