Hi There Chippers, This week there will be two Saturdays on my calendar. Monday (today) will be the first. Just got back from the cruise, yesterday. I gotta say it was eventful. Many of you already know this is an eventful birthday for yours truly as well. ‘Tis my 80th. If I thought I would live this long I darn well would taken better care of myself and dat’s a fact Jack…
Oh yeah the cruise, it started out bad, we were told we would be in an outside cabin with an unobstructed view, well that did not happen, so we went down to the registery desk and argued our case, to no avail; but a few minutes after we got back in our cabin, the desk called and said they had a cabin for us with a clear view on the 8th deck level. Things were looking up, not for long tho’ the next day I was off to the casino to get some pictures for Albert Scalzo, I did get them but they were on Nancys phone, Al. As soon as I figure how to get them up to you they are yours. I got back and all heck had cut loose, the outer glass on the veranda had shattered, some guy from the galley crew had walked in on Nancy while she was dressing. Either one of the aforementioned things by themselves are bad enough. You ask how is that possible? Apparently the crew uses the rooms that are not in use or filled on a cruise for various and sundry reasons. Later we were told the glass had shattered because of the vibration of the ship. As you remember they had magically come up with a new room for us after it filtered up the chain of command. Well….we got bumped up 3 more levels into the elite area, which included a nicer cabin, better food and and better place to eat it at. That was great, until we talked to some new acquaintances that told us that the ship needed to do something better than an upgrade for all the stress and problems. So we went down again, no dice the hotel manager (me thinks he was a flunkie ensign). My wife was the arbitrator, because she was the one that was wronged. She gave them 4 choices and none of them include future cruises. The last thing I said when we left that meeting was, our loyalty to Celebrity has ceased as of this cruise. When we went and got our statement the night before coming home (we always do that) the balance said $200 credit. One of the things we had asked for was for the ship to pay for the tips. By jove, they did it, so they ended up paying us $200. Who’d a thunk…very cool, we are Celebrity loyal again.
The islands were beautiful and it was my first trip to the Caymans, Cozemel and Jamaica I may have a picture or two later.
We also met two very charming, and beautiful young couples and spent some time with each of them throughout the week. One couple was from Brazil both wife and the husband were drop dead gorgeous. Our neighbor in the shattered glass incident was a young newly engaged young lady that was a singer and dancer, and was engaged to one of the guys in the show; yeah we could not believe that a guy dancer was straight either. The second couple was from England. Both of the couples were so beautiful it hurt the eyes…all four were well mannered more beautiful than anything Hollywood has to offer. Whatta Trip!!!!

Please remember, when you are trading with fellow chippers, or buying from a chip collector or dealer; to let the person you received chips from know that you received them. That should happen the day you open your shipment and verify its contents. It is impossible to predict or guess when delivery will be made.
Also, put a little blurb in your short message to the sender concerning the condition of the package/chips. That helps shipper know that his shipping methods are adequate.
Sometimes, we all forget. Sometimes we just do not know it is customary to do so. Sometimes we are just learning about this crazy hobby.
