For today's feature we have 5 examples from the former Gold Rush Casino, "The Cornerstone of Cripple Creek. This post will also serve as a Cripple Creek update. I was in Cripple Creek this past Oct and was very surprised to see a massive building project underway. I had heard of the project but again was kind of in shock seeing it in person!! Towering over historic bldgs. the north side of Bennet St. is the new Chamonix Casino Hotel/Bronco Billy's Casino Hotel. A mix of modern/classic design that didn't seem to fit in the historic business district that is Cripple Creek, but you can't stop progress. In the panorama photo you can see light blue bldg. that was the Gold Rush and then Bronco Billy's to the right. The 3rd photo shows a view the rear of the project looking SE, dwarfing the old town. The Chamonix is slated to open by the new year.
