They said tonight that it had propellers and a rudder for steering and that this is the 5th balloon send by China. I have no idea why they shot it down with a missile instead of just shooting a few bullets into it so it would come down slowly. Sounds like the government - why use a few $5 bullets instead of a quarter million dollar missile -no brains.
