Thanks John. The salad was for lunch at what was basically a convenience store. Everything in Iceland is really expensive. We really did not go cheap since we did have a 4 star hotel. Their breakfast buffet was $30 each if it was not included with your hotel which ours was. We did have a very nice 50th anniversary dinner at a seafood restaurant. The only disappointment was the chocolate cake that we wanted to take back to the room. Most places give you a piece of cake easily enough for two. What we got was a piece that was 3/4" thick(!) x 4" long X 2" high (about three mouthfulls). It was good but way too small for $20!
I am used to spending the $3000+ for 4 star tours (we don't need 5 star tours) and in fact am looking for a sale on a Gate 1 Swiss tour for later this year.
