I was rather surprised to see that Rich Burgel has seen the light about the current president of the SNCCC, but I applaud him for putting into words how most of us who have worked with Mr. Vergatos over the years feel.

I've been privileged to work on the Board of Directors of the CCA with five different presidents. I will say that working with Mssrs. Thompson, Steffner, Smith, and, of course, Spragg has been an absolute pleasure. After working for one term with Mr. Vergatos, though, I no longer had any desire to be associated with the BOD for any additional time and withdrew from running again.

Every word that Rich states in his post is 100% true. I also did not attend the SNCCC show this fall, as I was in the midst of doing a lot of travelling. In July I e-mailed Mr. Vergatos for the table rates for the show, even though my fall schedule was somewhat up in the air at that point. A couple of weeks later, he replied to one of my e-mails with "... Are you still interested in a table at the show or were you on a fact-finding mission?" These are the kind of people skills Rich refers to. Needless to say, that ended any communications I had or will have with Mr. Vergatos. I've seen first hand the turmoil Mr. Vergatos has wreaked as a board member in both the CCA and the MOGH. He was a very divisive and disruptive force and his "my way or the highway" attitude turned off all of his colleagues.

Over the past couple of years, I've gotten to know James Hogg as a fellow SNCC club member and as a neighbor. He is a very intelligent and well-spoken man who will be a huge asset to the SNCC. He has an agenda for the Club and is keen to listen to our members and remove the current toxicity that exists.
