Well, some more information would be nice although I won't expect to see any from you. Maybe an actual photo even.
Tom was right about the plaques (except that they don't exist as they do) and his book was brilliant as it put all of the information that was known at the time together. I'm sure that £23,000 was mentioned originally (not £8,000) and no maker which wasn't found out until much later.
Maybe there was/is a Playboy £100,000 but just quoting Tom's book and saying that you think there were 10 not 11 plastic ones made (??) doesn't add anything to the story at all especially the Clermont one.
I doubt that having something to show to the press and be window dressing would have been unknown to the gaming board so hush hush? I think not. I'd love to find out for sure that there was a Playboy one but we may never know.
The first 1966 colour chips were unknown as were many of the chips and other items that we now know exist when Tom wrote his book but he did the best with what he knew at the time and I know that I'm grateful he produced the book (and that it is being carried on) as I expect many others are too.
