A few years ago, there was an excellent series of photographs published by Nickie Edwards Pool showing many of the old bars and dives of Montana. She had spent many years traveling around the state attempting to capture them for posterity before they all dried up and blew away. She counted over 30 "Cattlemans" and nearly that many "Mint" Bars (many of which were also card rooms over the years). Seems like every town had one or the other. This particular chip comes from the one in Kalispell, which has been dealing cards for decades. Then there's Washington, but that's another thread!
