Most major ivory collectors that I know , including myself could care less about slight variations. Main reason being is , legitimate antique ivory chips were all " hand carved ". They are not like today's machine- made chips. Unlike some folks that have 10 or 15 ivory chips, I have alot of them. It would make me crazy to code all of them. I know I have a great many that are totally uncoded. And personally I enjoy having chips that no one has ever seen. Just like casino chips that no one has ever seen is special. Most of the best and greatest casino or ivory chip collections, have numerous chips that are not listed or ever seen. That's what makes these collections, the best of the best.
