It's not a tear like you'd see from the regular inlay material. This is heat/pressure induced and the image split. It's not really an inlay at all, it's closer to a paint job, but not paint.

I no longer work around chip manufacturing but I love chips and have had conversations with some of the well known board members, even sold one of a kind items to a few.

I have a ton of knowledge that hopefully I'll be able to share someday. I learned the trade from my Father (RIP) and he would be upset at what little info I give as it is. One particular member actually met my Dad while on a chip gathering mission.
