I'll put these together so it doesn't clutter up the board and I'll try to make it short.
I call these "The Big 3" where Dr No is concerned as they are the most prominent in the film.
There were actually 6 different denominations used onscreen but as these were all seen in front of Bond.............
£50 - 300 made in April 1961 and the vast majority are in awful condition. Obviously, there are still a few that look almost new and many inbetween that are still nice to look at. About 10 seen in the film although also seen in "A hard day's night" too.
£100 - 200 made in April 1961 and, again, many are "ruined" but they have kept their shape better than the £50s and don't go as "nasty" when they've deteriorated. Between 40 and 50 seen onscreen in Dr No as far as I can tell.
£500- Only 100 made at the same time as the others and 4 were seen in the film. Some were also stamped in gold with "Milamba" and used on Mr Mills' yacht in Monaco but not many.
I'll show the £1000 later which finishes off the set from 1961.
The £50 and £100 were also remade in 1974 in smaller sizes and to subsidise the existing ones, I think.
There are 4 later 1978 plaques that replaced the Dr No ones (probably) and a £500 metal token too.
