1000 made in April 1961 ready for the opening in May.
These had never been seen "in the flesh" before (or I had never seen any anyway) but they were known as the same denomination was seen in "Dr No" and "A hard day's night," although it is the £5s that are seen most prominently. As the Beatles film is in black and white, it is hard to spot but there is at least 1 seen onscreen, you can tell by the shape.
Many of the ones I have are in lovely condition and they look like they could have been made yesterday (they weren't though). They seem to go dull if they've deteriorated but still look reasonable considering their age. When I was wiping/cleaning them one turned into a "bendable" one but the rest stayed solid.
This wasn't replicated by the fans or Factory Entertainment (probably because it wasn't seen in front of Bond) and there are a couple of sellers knocking these out at "silly" prices in Germany at the moment. I'm much more reasonably priced.
I'll put the others in the set up sometime soon.
