Let’s not get carried away. My memory is not that good but I believe Robert paid $3000 or $4000.

There is no way anyone would pay $18,000 to $24,000 for a set of 6 chips. I believe there was a chipper willing to pay $75,000 for the set.

I believe the set is short 4 chips (696 total??). The buyer would have taken out 96 chips, have the box reworked to hold 600 and then sell sets of 6 to his friend at a reasonable price. I figured $3000 for 6.

Having said that, I don’t know who owns the set now or what was paid. Does anyone know what happened to the set?

By the way, Robert knew nothing about the chips after he bought them. It was very fortunate that it had a great history associated with the chips.

I’m sure the name Morgan tripled the value of that set
