Although this is a publicity photo I assume so they wouldn't have been used as a bet (I don't think).

I've managed to find a few of the Playtime staff magazines and I am hoping to find out any more details that we still don't yet know.
It would be great to confirm if there was a Playboy gold £100,000 plaque although as I've spoken to many, many ex-Playboy staff who worked in London all have said that it was a Clermont one and nobody remembers a Playboy one regardless of what has been written before.
According to the jeweller that made it, it was a Clermont one too but he was very cagey about it and was only prepared to tell me that and nothing else. The cost mentioned in Tom's book (and the newer one) was divulged to me by the manager that worked at the Clermont at the time. It was sold for £40,000 when Mecca owned the club and I'm still hoping to find an actual photo of it someday.
