My neighbor went with friends on a 2 1/2 week Paris vacation. She had a great time. However, not so much for her friend. On the day of departure for America her fully vaccinated friend tested positive for Covid. She was required to stay at the hotel for ten days. She forfeited her plane ticket. A new ticket cost her $2500. All in all her positive Covid cost her an additional $10k.

I think I’ll forgo a European vacation under present Covid policies.
