Let sleeping puppies lie?? Naaaahhh...
Archie, did you get to exchange your Hollywood strikes for airplanes, or did you have to start again?
This thread made me think...and I think most ALL of the points are valid....in other words, I'll vote "undecided" but here's a couple of questions...
I agree there must be a denomination on a strike. If there's a denomination, theoretically it can be turned in at the cage for face value. If someone turns one in, will O'Sheas sell it to the next person who asks if there are any silver strikes?? If so, doesn't that make it (theoretically) available to anyone?
I have some $2 strikes from the Aladdin, they appear to be brass (?) is it o.k. to call them "silver" strikes?
Seems to me that a couple of years ago there was an article in CC & TN that said "Cheques/Checks" have a face value, but "Chips" don't. (Right?) Yet, all of us say we're buying, selling, or trading $1, $2.50, $5, etc. "CHIPS". We understand what is being discussed, even though we're using the wrong term. The same thing will probably hold true with the thingy that O'Shea's is distributing!? (Or am I remembering all wrong?)
Happy chippin' everyone!
