The Stateline Hotel started as the Cobblestone Service Station built by Bill Smith in 1926. He added a
roulette game in 1932 and cabins were built in 1933. The hotel was built next door in 1937.
Gene Jones came to Wendover in 1931 and worked at the Cobblestone. I remember talking
with him around 1970 and asking him for old chips. He didn't come up with anything so I had
to settle with getting the current ones. The hotel was torn down in 1973.
