Regarding Boards. I do not have any experience on the proper operational make up for Club Boards. I do have very much experience regarding Board of Directors for companies, which In my opinion may be similar. Most often, some Board Members are not employees or affiliated with the company, or in this case a club member. When I was working as an upper level executive for a public company we always worked to attract Board Members from a related field or technical operational background. They brought ideas to the table, think outside the box, and helped the company grow. I would suspect that would work in the clubs case adding a few seats. The Board of Directors was separate from our Executive Team but there were Executive Team members on the Board........ If this was not the case and everyone on the Board was from within, that would not have be healthy for the growth of the organization. I can cite suggestions of outside board member participants that would be helpful for the clubs growth. In closing I believe there is much talent in our organization. If we are not open to new ideas, even if the ideas are not new and have been shot down in the past, as well as moving out of a comfort zone, we will remain Status Quo .. I elude to this in an upcoming article of the club magazine.
