Richard,
Here I is!
NASCAR in Vegas. I haven't seen a question yet, but can anticipate some of them.
If you are driving your own car, you're cool. If not, secure a rental NOW! The inaugural Las Vegas 400 was the 1st time I was in town that every rental car was taken months before I got there. I got my usual $15/day compact car 4 months before I reserved a room!
There really isn't anyplace cool to stay that is really close to the track. Downtown works for me, both for NASCAR and NHRA Drag Racing. Ya jump onto I-15 west. ...or you can take Las Vegas Blvd North, it runs right behind the track, but you probably want to know which parking area you are going to.
I say probably, because I had infield parking tags on my car for the 1st LV 400 and that area was full by the time I got to the track.
You want a quick getting close route? Take I-15 to the Craig Road exit and head right to Las Vegas Blvd, then take a left.
Leaving the track, don't fight it. They are getting better. Try to pick the same way out, but don't get discouraged if it takes an hour or two.
Have fun! Vegas is a pretty cool Cup track!
