I think you are misunderstanding the issue. No one is saying that ChipGuide shouldn't enforce someone crediting them for a photo that is cut and pasted from their website. Especially if that image is being used to represent a chip for profit.

The issue is the belief that has come out during this discussion that once ChipGuide has modified the photo to some degree that is is now a newly copyrighted photo owned by them.
