By the way, right next door the City of Henderson is building a $28 million dollar state of the art Amphitheatre. Green Valley Ranch Station Casino will run the Amphitheatre.

Don Marrandino, president of Station Casino's East Las Vegas properties, says: "We're excited about providing the service that a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons would provide."

The hotel-casino is a joint venture between Station Casinos and America Nevada, The Greenspun Corp.

"The designers thought wouldn't it be great to close your eyes and make this place like it was some rich guy's home in Argentina," said Marrandino. "We only have 200 rooms and suites here, which is smaller than most of our proprieties."

The owners say everything is on schedule; the opening is set for December.

The architecture is already beginning to take shape, and construction is also under way on the pool, spa, nightclub and tennis courts.

From the 10 theaters you can walk right up to the casino floor. In addition to a food court upstairs, the resort will also feature seven restaurants that will satisfy all kinds of palates, from breakfast -- like The Original Pancake House -- to lunch at Border Grill, to dinner at Il Fornio. And, of course, don't forget the buffet.

"We think we know what the locals like. They like inexpensive but great food and great values," Marrandino said.

Luxury, service, food and fun is what owners are banking on to draw locals and tourists in when the resort opens at the end of the year. Station Casinos owns 10 properties in the Las Vegas Valley. This year, Palace Station is celebrating its 25th anniversary.<<<<
