~~~ inv3ntory, Bob Hermans came to visit me and we trade one of my big blues for his pair and, he attended our club convention where he sold both denominations and, though I was the sole importer of the series at first; the 50k and 100k were not even available at the time of my presentation at the 1991 ANA Convention in Orlando, and I think it might have been that the pair was still on the game up to or possibly just prior to the intro of the Euro.
I do know one thing for sure; nobody in all of Europe or anywhere had a 250.000... In fact, the first collector I sent a set to including the BIG Blue, was Marc-André, and the second; Pascoal... and Archie Black was the first American to have a set.
So, yes; there are examples of both 50 and 100 here in the US, and where the balance of the inventory wound up, including the 1.000.000 of the following Bef series after Dr Jur Willy VERDONCK passed, I do not know and, no matter what you hear in Europe, the most accurate info pertaining to the series and the Dinant "Flag Series" which I coind and also introduced into the hobby is from Bob and myself...
In my opinion; that Oostende series is the nicest set to ever come out of Belgium, and they are holding up well, especially the big Red lunette which I first though might have a problem but, so far all appear to be fine.
It was never a secret where the inventory came from at first and it was announced here; from Berlin, that someone in the US has a connection with the family -- when I was the only person with the stuff...
You WILL find what you are looking for, I am quite sure... maybe two nice serial numbers, also.
BTW, there is some Dinant that is only known in print; thus the poor quality image in ChipGuide... and maybe an Update is in order.
Enjoy and thank you and the rest of Team ChipGuide for all you do...
