We have a shortage of 300 HPD Officers!
Why? Starting pay is just over $60 thousand.
Several HPD shootings, with no positive support for the Officers
from the silent majority.
As children, we were told by our Mothers..."See that Policeman, if you are not good and not behaving, he'll lock you up!"
I do not know what the solution is, but as a Senior, I do not drive about too late at night. I never stare at road rage bad drivers.
When someone cuts me off, I count to 20 and say, "He must be late for his funeral."
I carry a neck lanyard with a whistle, personal alarm, MACE, pocket knife and a powerful pocket flashlight.
Oh yah, a bottle opener, too.
When I walk back to my car in a parking lot. I used my key fob several time to flash my light and entrance horn.
Plus most car key fobs have a red panic button to depress to sound your car alarm horn.
I look in the back seats to see if anyone is hiding.
I lock all the doors once inside.
My Fellow Chippers..These are horrible, dangerous, stressful, fearful times.
Be prepared and get home safe!
