destroyed by COVID-19 and the variants!!
Our main revenue is TOURISM!
Before the Covid-19, there were over 35 thousand arrivals every day at our airports.
When the CV hit and our governor locked us down, only less than a thousand arrivals each day.
There was a 14 day lockdown in hotel rooms for all.
Waikiki beach and streets were blacked out.
Hotels were closed.
Restaurants and related tourist business were closed.
With a population of 1.4 million, and as of today, 1,200 Islanders have died of Covid.
Now our Island Government is opening and relaxing Covid restrictions and mandates!
But I am afraid it might be too late for small Mom and Pop stores and businesses.
Most have closed.
Our young people have had to begged their parents and grand parents if they can move back in with them.
Schools have closed and I think that generation of students will suffer by not having social contact with other of their peers. Their grades will suffer.
Many houses and condos are so very expensive. Average house is close to one million $$$$.
As a Senior, I have been self quarantining in my condo since January 2020.
And as all you fellow Seniors know, at our age, we all have immune health problems!
As well as our spouses.
I will be attending our 2022 CCA Convention!!!!
